Beachfront ‘Basic Instinct’ home is back on the market with a $30 million price tag

The Carmel Highlands oceanfront home where Sharon Stone’s ‘Basic Instinct’ character lived is back on the market for $30 million.

The Lodge at Spindrift, built in 1983 by adventurer Steve Fossett, is one of five homes in the Seven Coves residential complex that was listed for just over $52 million in 2019, the San Francisco Business Times reported. . The property has been divided into individual plots and the main house has had a facelift and a new list price.

Gary Vickers paid around $15 million for the house in 2018, before it was listed with the rest of the complex.

“The current owner has spent millions on renovations,” said listing agent Jonathan Spencer. SFGate. “The house lives like a new construction.”

The 12,100 square foot, six-bedroom home features an updated kitchen with new appliances, a wood-burning pizza oven, and an air-conditioned wine wall. Updates include remodeled bathrooms and two new bedrooms. The house also has a commercial-scale steam room and gym overlooking the water.

A two-story library with a spiral staircase and domed ceiling remained after renovations, as did a glass-walled breakfast room. The outdoor pool with a tiered waterfall has been updated with new equipment and plumbing. The owner has also added new lighting and a sitting area with a fire pit in the back yard.

The property was also featured in an episode of HBO’s “Big Little Lies.”
