Barcelona put £17m price tag on Depay amid Everton links

Everton now know the price they will have to pay for Barcelona striker Memphis Depay if they want to sign him this summer.

According to a Spanish media sportthe Catalan giants have valued the 28-year-old Dutch international at £17million as they look to build up funds to be able to buy Leeds United winger Raphinha among other summer targets.

The same outlet reported the Toffees’ interest in Depay a A few days ago after Super Remote revealed that Everton inquired about him in April.

Arsenal and Newcastle United are also keen to bring the Dutchman back to the Premier League after a less than successful stint at Manchester United under Louis van Gaal which saw him leave Old Trafford for Lyon.

Barcelona also want to bring in Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich as well as Marcos Alonso from Chelsea, so they need to sell players to help balance the books at Camp Nou.

Be patient

There’s no doubt Depay is a very talented player and someone who could make a big impact at Goodison Park if he joins the club, but we shouldn’t be rushing to shake things up.

First of all we have to see what the future holds for Richarlison who plays a very similar game and position to the 28 year old and no matter what you do you can’t have two left wingers on the pitch in same time. time and success.

Should the Brazilian leave, however, Farhad Moshiri would need to move quickly to cough up the necessary £17million as Everton will struggle to find a better player for the same price or less in this role.

The question would remain, however, if Depay really wanted to ditch the sunny shores of Barcelona for the banks of the Mersey to play for a club that only narrowly survived last season.

He already knows the Premier League draw but he’ll have to see evidence of improvement before deciding whether to make the move and it’s still a good way off.

In other Everton news, a big behind-the-scenes change could be about to descend on Goodison Park with a local affiliate potentially in the works.
