Atlanta Bakery Saint-Germain Bakery opens cafe serving sandwiches, pastries and champagne in Buckhead Village

Ponce City Market Patisserie Saint-Germain Bakery is opening a bakery-café later this summer in Buckhead Village.

Named for the Parisian district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the 6th arrondissement, the cafe will open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and will serve French pastries as well as a menu of grilled sandwiches, croque sir, quiches and soups. In addition to coffee, tea, and espresso, expect French wines and champagne by the glass, focused on offerings from organic wine producers and women.

Once opened, people order at the counter and can either take their food to go or sit at a table in the cafe or on the patio, inspired by the street-side seating found in cafes and restaurants in Paris. .

Mathieu Jourdan-Gassin and Heather Jourdan-Gassin worked in French and American restaurants around Atlanta for years before opening Saint-Germain Bakery in 2016 at Ponce City Market. The patisserie is known for its selection of classic French pastries, croissants, chouquettes, macaroons and chocolates.

A similar Saint-Germain bakery and café from the couple is also opening this summer at the Interlock complex at Howell Mill Road and 14th Street, across from the Westside Provisions District.
